How is the Somatic Eating® approach different?
Somatic Eating® is here to address patterns of disordered eating that came into your life to regulate a dysregulated nervous system.
Many of the programs you have gone through have approached your eating and body challenges from a mental place, offering you concepts that stimulate your mind and a bunch of tools that solely focus on your nutrition and your food, but perhaps still don’t connect you back with your body.
Instead of continuing to try to get rid of and fix your food behaviors, you’ll learn how to interpret and understand what your body is trying to communicate through your food impulses.
You’ll have a deep sense of knowing yourself and what satiates your physical and emotional hungers, in ways that support you in feeling seen and heard.
You will no longer need to rely on a diet, fad way of eating, or nutrition practitioner. You will be the expert on you and your body.

Testimonials
"I am no longer confused about what to eat or how to move my body..."
The Somatic Eating® Program has helped me learn how to have compassion for myself and for these behaviors I have learned as a way to keep myself safe.
My relationship with food now feels more peaceful and intentional. I feel so connected to my body and my emotions. I don’t think about food as the problem, instead I think about how I’m feeling, what I’m needing, and what I can do to give myself that. Sometimes its food and sometimes its something else!
I’ve learned how important setting boundaries is and the importance of relearning to trust my body. My relationship with my food and body feels freeing! I feel calm when I eat and move the way I want to depending on the day, I am not as rigid in a routine. I am no longer confused about what to eat or how to move my body, I know that the answer is within me.
I’m no longer intentionally trying to lose weight and realize the weight is there for a reason and my body is doing what it needs to do right now.

"...I had finally found what I needed."
It helped guide me to get into my body and slow down in order to work on my relationship with food and my body. This program felt different than others I have tried because it was so personalized. I loved the weekly calls, the journal prompts, the Facebook group and 1 on 1 support, the way the material was presented and made applicable to begin practicing in our own life.
Past programs I tried incorporated mindset work but it never really worked for me or clicked for me and this program made me understand why! I was in my head, not in my body. When I found this program I instantly resonated and it felt like I had finally found what I needed.

"...[I'm] cultivating the true self compassion that I have always longed for..."
I feel so much more aware of what is happening with the choices that I make and why. Through the lessons and practices in the Somatic Eating® Program I was able to develop an understanding that many of my "self sabotage" behaviors were actually self-protective, and were my best effort at taking care of myself the best way I knew how.
In understanding that, I have developed much more of a tenderness for myself, and in turn cultivating the true self compassion that I have always longed for. I see signals from my body to overeat or turn to comfort foods that feel good for a moment but leave me feeling terrible in the long run in a whole new way. I thank my body for those signals now because I understand that something deeper is at play.
Sometimes I can sit with the feeling and uncover what is underneath (I cry now! I suppressed negative emotions for so long that when the tears come now, I am oddly delighted! I feel so good that these feelings are safe to come up, be processed, cared for, and then be released.) and sometimes I don't have the capacity. But my capacity is growing slowly and steadily, and in that way, I can trust it.

"...it has given me a map to understanding myself..."
I loved this program because it felt like not adding another thing to your plate, but instead learning to sink into the knowledge that your body has and holds already. I feel that it has given me a map to understanding myself in a way that is flexible and unique to me.
What is different about this program is that you are not being given a set of rules and guidelines to follow, you are learning to decode and determine your own.
